On Our Way Back Home!!!
Hawaii Here We Come!

We are going to what we both consider our other home-or hope to call home one day soon in the future! So its booked and we are very excited! We leave next Saturday the 31st and will be flying back the following Saturday on the 7th! We are so very happy to be going back home to Honolulu! This will however be our shortest trip back home and we both are a little sad about it only being a week, but its still going to be great to get away to get some beach in along with some R and R and also great island eats! We usually stay at a beach house and partial time at a semi-upscale hotel- but this time we are trying to be more frugal and found the air at a steal and the hotel we booked has some good reviews a good rate and a super location so we booked it- it is called the Waikiki Circle- the arrow on the pic above is the property. Pretty good eh? We don't have alot of time on this trip home but of course will squeeze in seeing the family as well. Ours days are usually spent 1/2 day at a beach somewhere on the island either in the am or pm and then the other 1/2 doing our running around and doing visits.... Here are some of the things we will be doing....

Drinks at the Royal Hawaiian Mai Tai Bar in the evening when we do stay in town for the night is a must. It will be nice to see the bartenders that know us so well....It is true Hawaiian ALOHA that they remember us year after year-- even if we are away for a few they always remember us and what we drink! We usually head out to the boy bar HULAS after we have a few drinks at the palace....

We will be eating here a few times--RAINBOWS!!! Having Hawaiian style plate lunches! I grew up right around the corner from Rainbows on Date Street in Kapahulu and this will actually be the first place and the last place we most like will eat when we visit.

Lanikai Beach-- One of our favorite stops when we visit the Windward side of the island...Lovely!

Koolina--we will spend a few afternoons at this property/beach when we are on the Leeward Side of the island-- its one of our favorite places to relax and read in the sun and swim....we love the lagoons and since we have so much friends and family that live in this area of the island ( I grew up a hop skip and jump down the street) we will be able to visit with them as well-we will invite the kids to join us for the day and maybe have a day at the beach!

Leonards Bakery- Another stop one day for some malasadas! This is an old Portuguese bakery that my granny and I would visit often...Alot of my Birthday cakes came from good old Leonards bakery growing up!
We will go out for Okazu-ya while we are back home at a few places- but one of my favorite and fondest memories is getting okazu from Sekiyas growing up-This is somewhere we went to so often. We will make sure to go in and grab bentos and have some saimin like the old days! Delish! This place is right across the street from my mom and dads high school Kamuki High....

One day we will take a drive around the island-- Stop at Chinamans Hat at Kualoa Point....if you look in the distance you can also see turtle island.... This is one thing we do always....Take a drive and circle the island stopping at favorite places and such....I used to do this with my family growing up....good times!

We will do some shopping at the Aloha Stadium Swap Meet-- We will be able to pick up some great stuff..... We may pop in a few times-- Sunday morning and Wednesday morning...Pikc up some new goods......
We will also spend a day at our favorite beach- Waimea Bay-- Unless of course the monster surf is in...then we will be watching the surfers....I know the last few weeks have seen some big ass waves! Like 30 feet and bigger! YIKES!!! No boogie boarding for me here....
We will eat at Zippys-- its like the McDonald's of Hawaii and most are open 24 hours! Plate Lunches, Bentos and Zip Pacs! And the famous Chili and Fried Chicken!

So we will have to make sure to take long walks and such on the beach as food consumption is quite high when I go home! I will need to diet when I get back!

Magical and Sweet
The Obamas Dance at the Ball
Watching our new president dance with his wife Michelle last night was magical wasnt it? I am happy that we have some style and class back in the White House. It was so sweet how they whispered and twirled on the dance floor. Barack had some moves too! He had some nice leg action and later he was doing the bump! You go boy!

Wednesdays Beef
and thoughts.....
Thought I would show my versatility in men today....something about this boy says he would be quite a good time eh? Sorry about my post being kinda scarce these days....Sometimes I am just not in the mood or time is not on my side-I have been good about going to other fave blogs...just bad about posting in this one....I think I may need a blog break soon which should help. Work has been very busy which is good as the days fly by and I love that. We found out yesterday that our office is moving. We are currently in downtown Seattle and we will be moving out of the city and some in the office are up in arms over it but I am happy over the move as its close to home for us and we wont have to deal with the city and its parking and such. The new office is much nicer than our current office and it will save the company so much money to move out of the city and the amenities are much better. It is in a really nice area with trails to walk, jog or ride a bike on and the building has large windows and a new fitness center. It is surrounded by trees and a few cafes and a major mall is less than a mile away...so its a good change. Home life has also been just as busy as we are getting the house in order for the new year with cleaning and downsizing our stuff--so much stuff!!! And spending time with friends and our kids. Having 3 dogs with one of them being a rambunctious puppy takes some play time each day. We did not like many get on a new fitness or diet regime for the new year and I think we will wait and really get into this when the move to the new office happens--it will be a perfect time to start. We are still making plans for a quick getaway next month as a beach is still calling our names! I think Hawaii is calling us back home. While there we are going to check out homes and jobs as we are actually thinking about maybe just maybe making the move that we have wanted to do for a long time and move back to the islands. It would be the hardest thing to do but we have to think about where we are in our lives and if we should do it now or keep putting it off....Will see how this all plays out..... Please keep us in your prayers..as you are in mine...among other things! he he he....xoxoxox

We were out and about last night..Check out the 4More Band

Last night went out with my sisters--I have 2 sisters--I am the eldest and then we are all a year apart so we are very close as we grew up together and all was in High School and such together....We went bar hoping last night the old neighborhood (the suburbia of Renton) and since we all LOVE to dance we ended up going to a casino and had the greatest time dancing and this was the band that played....Hubby wants me to hire them for our next function LOL! So we are Recoupin today -we got home at 200 am!! As my mom would say....we really cut the rug last night!!! Here is a clip I found on you tube of the 4More band---they are pretty good for cover band and the lead singer Jennifer Newberry and the rest of the band was cool and very friendly! They came up and chatted and danced with us...Now excuse me as I go take a tylenol.....

Seattle Gay Bars Targeted By Anonymous Ricin Poisoning Threat
Please Let this be a hoax!!!

Looking to enjoy a night out grabbing drinks with friends? Great! Live in Seattle? Not so great. That's because at least 11 bar owners have received threatening letters saying patrons will be targeted with ricin poisoning. Ingesting ricin generally isn't fatal (but it can be, especially if inhaled), but the castor bean concoction doesn't go well with a dirty martini, either.
Eleven gay bars in Seattle received letters today addressed to the "Owner/Manager" from someone claiming to be in the possession of ricin, a deadly poison. "Your establishment has been targeted," the letter begins. "I have in my possession approximately 67 grams of ricin with which I will indiscriminately target at least five of your clients."

"I felt sick when I read it," said Carla, the owner/manager of Re-bar. "It's so vile. It's just hatred. It made me worry for all the other bars, and for my bartenders, and our clientele."
According to the CDC's website, someone who has ingested "a significant amount" will develop vomiting and diarrhea within the first 6-12 hours; other symptoms of ricin poisoning include hallucinations, seizures, and blood in the urine. There is no antidote for ricin but ricin exposure is not invariably fatal.

"I just had the police come pick [the letter] up," said Keith Christensen, the manager of the Eagle, when reached by phone. Christensen had already heard about the letter from other bar owners and managers, and so he didn't open it. "It's probably nothing," Christensen added, "but the economy is really screwing all the bars right now, and the last thing we need is something ramping up the not-go-out mode people seem to be in right now. It's really freaky that someone would do something like this at a time like this."
eagle1-6-09.jpgChristensen says he's posted signs at the Eagle advising patrons not to leave their drinks unattended.

It gets sicker:
A letter also arrived in The Stranger's offices, addressed to the attention of "Obituaries." The letter's author said the paper should "be prepared to announce the deaths of approximately 55 individuals all of whom were patrons of the following establishments on a Saturday in January." The listed bars are: the Elite, Neighbours, Wild Rose, the Cuff, Purr, the Eagle, R Place, Re-bar, CC's, Madison Pub, and the Crescent. "I could take this moment to launch into a diatribe about my indignation towards the gay community," the letter concludes, "however, I think the deaths will speak for themselves."

WTF is going on! This all I guess transpired yesterday....so sad!

Anniversary Vacation
Wanted
Can you believe the hubby and I met 12 years ago this month!!!! Golly Gee Willikers!!!! We were friends for a few months and then did the nasty later and so we actually celebrate our anniversary in March. The picture above was taken on I believe our 3rd anniversary while on a Caribbean cruise in Barbados. Ahhhhhh such good times! We were in the South Pacific last year for our 11th anniversary and it was a biggie since we skipped our 10th. We really have been trying to be good and frugal and very sensitive to the/our current economic situation and such but we are so wanting and due for a vacation! We have been pretty good about spending and I think we should do it as rates for travel are quite low right now so we have decided to maybe just maybe if the stars and moon and such line up correctly. We just maybe able to head out for a beach at the end of the month. We being the beach and sun gods we are think our second home Hawaii and or Mexico sounds perfect right now for a quick beach/sun getaway....Plus with these destinations we wont be pay a bundle to do so.....Pray for us that it all works out! We need to get the hell out of this snow and rainy dodge! I am going to work on it and see if we can swing it.

Great song as we head into another year---Another year over the rainbow. I hope its a good one for all of us. This song hits you doesnt it...I Love my Iz! We saw MILK yesterday and was moved with so many emotions and I dont even know where to start, I just hope it takes many awards and thus alot of folks go and see it who normally would not go and see it.... Today is a day of rest....well sort of ....take down the Christmas decor and give the house a good New Year Cleaning....much like spring cleaning......New Linens and all that! Nothing like a clean fresh house with new linens! Also woke up to snow AGAIN today! I am so over the snow but at least it was just a dusting....so it is pretty! Hope you enjoy the song....His music has become so universal......so great for a Hawaiian artist...He is in our Hawaiian hearts.....Check out his music sometime if you havent already done so.......and skip over the Don Ho......he is what real Hawaian music is all about....He does covers yes......but ALOT of Hawaiian as well ---his music is truly  SPECIAL.

New Years Traditions
Movie and Chinese
Hubby and I have had a tradition for New Years day.  We go to a movie and we usually try to see some sort of epic movie or something special to start off the year and this year we saved MILK for our special New Years day movie... After the movie we then we go out for Chinese at our fave Chinese joint Hongs.....We did this tradition for many years on our own ( I think this is year 11 or is it 12?  WOW!) We missed the tradition only last year due to weather but anyhow a few years ago we opened it up for a few friends and it was special for us and thought this movie would be perfect for us and the other couple for this years tradition--as they are family too....So today they broke this little tradition and called to bail on us to go see Twilight which I think is sorta lame....Ok maybe only a little lame as maybe more disappointing to us than anything....I know they will read this entry and choke on a hairball but but truth be told I guess we just have to understand that they invited fam over for the holiday and promised the tween to go see Twilight for the very same day I guess....so lets just leave it as it is super sad to have them break a tradition with us that they knowingly know we do each and every year.     Oh well I think its just another sign as you know what they say---they way you bring in the year is sorta the forecast for the year...... So it will change back again to an exclusive day just between us lovers today!!  They asked to join for Chinese later but will see if that even pans out.  I doubt it.

So I posted my plan and about my tradition on my facebook this morning and got allot of --Bring the tissues for the movie!!!  So I will have to bring some big time as I am such a crier already....Shit......I cry on touching commercials on TV!   So I am excited to see the movie! Nice way to bring in the year with a good cry and a movie that moves you!  Perfect!

Well cowboys and cowgals too---Happy New Years Day to you! Lets hope this year is good to all of us!  Giddy Up its 2009!!!
